A Soviet style flag.

While the shape of hammer and sickle does seem to vary somewhat, it
seems that the official design, or at least the one which is in widespread
use, is indeed the one currently shown here.
The photos of such flags can be found at many websites and some of the best

"A Soviet style flag" description is not quite correct, since the
Soviet flag has had the hammer and sickle in the canton,
while this one has them in the center, just like many other Asian Communist
flags, for example the Communist Party of the Philippines
and many Communist parties from India, so it might be
more precise to describe it as an "Asian style Communist flag".

The flag of Communist Party of Vietnam also has a vertical variant, which is
frequently used for street decorations. Such a flag, with the ratio 2:1 or even
or more oblong was photographed in Ho Chi Minh City on 2012-05-09:

The hammer and sickle are not necessarily placed at the top; they may appear
in the bottom part, as shown in another photo from Ho Chi Minh City (date of
making not specified):

Wikipedia.
(Since the ratio cannot be precisely determined from the above
sources, the image is made with the approximation of 1:2.)
